The University of Kentucky has a Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
The chapter is one of many chartered by Habitat for Humanity International. Chapters are also active at Transylvania University in Lexington, Berea College in Berea, Centre College in Danville, Georgetown College in Georgetown and at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
Campus Chapters of Habitat for Humanity educate students about the work and mission of Habitat for Humanity; advocate on behalf of people in need of decent shelter and for an end to poverty housing and homelessness; help build houses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates and homeowners; and raise funds for the work of Habitat for Humanity.
The UK chapter has been a co-sponsor for several Lexington Habitat home builds in the past few years. In 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the chapter partnered with the UK Interfraternity Council and the UK Panhellenic Council to build a home. If you are a UK student or alum and would like to get involved with the Campus Chapter, please visit their Facebook page to learn more.
