Through new construction and remodeled homes we offer a wide variety of affordable housing opportunities in Lexington, Kentucky. Lexington Habitat for Humanity homes feature quality, energy efficient design and construction. Each home boasts 2-4 bedrooms based on family size and we use 1 or 2 story designs based on lot and family size. Our homes adhere to neighborhood covenants and restrictions (in limited instances Lexington Habitat homes are built with brick and/or garages).

We are proud to build ENERGY STAR rated homes which helps Habitat homeowners control utility costs. Lexington Habitat’s construction department provides oversight for all builds. They are joined by community volunteers and partner families for all aspects of building.

Critical Home Repair

Lexington Habitat’s Love Your Neighborhood Critical Home Repair service helps low-income homeowners make needed repairs so they can live in a safe, healthy and affordable home. Critical Home Repair is part of a Habitat for Humanity nation-wide effort to serve homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and struggle to maintain the integrity of their homes. Through extensive interior or exterior work, critical health, life and/or safety and affordability issues are alleviated.

Home Preservation

Lexington Habitat’s Love Your Neighborhood Home Preservation program focuses on neighborhood revitalization. Lexington Habitat selects multiple streets in a neighborhood where low-income homeowners participate in an exterior home repair project that features tasks such as porch and ramp repair or additions, landscaping, gutter repair and more.

Neighborhood Cleanups

Lexington Habitat’s Love Your Neighborhood Clean-up projects bring volunteers together to focus on safety and beautification through a street clean-up project. Volunteers clear out brush and fence rows, trim trees, pick up trash and complete other light exterior clean-up work.
