COVID-19 UPDATE 3/25/2020: Our work is about more than homes, it's about community. That is why - first and foremost - we must help prioritize the health and safety of this community. We have been closely monitoring development with Covid-19 and reviewing recommendations on the local, state and federal level. In response, Lexington Habitat for Humanity is taking the following steps:

As of 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18th, we have suspended our free pick-up service and deconstruction services until further notice.

As of 6:00pm on Saturday, March 21st, we will be closing both Lexington Habitat ReStore locations until further notice.

As of 10:00am on Wednesday, March 25th, we have suspended drop-off donations to our Habitat ReStores. Please do not leave items outside our doors. We are grateful for your generosity, however, lack of staff and weather will render your donations unusable if left out in the elements. Please help us by holding donations until we reopen.

While these decisions will impact our ministry, we are serious about our commitment to love our neighbors and enact practices that are in their best interest and safety. We are continuing to adapt to this evolving situation and will modify our response as appropriate. Thank you once again for your support of our mission through purchases and donations to Lexington Habitat ReStore.

We may be closed to the public, but you can still support your local ReStore by purchasing a gift card for use once we are open again. We miss you and can’t wait to serve you again in the future! Stay safe and healthy!

Are you remodeling or demolishing a home or business?

Lexington Habitat’s trained staff can carefully remove items such as your kitchen cabinets and countertops. Rather than go to the landfill, salvaged materials find a second home through Habitat ReStore. Proceeds from your donation help fund building and repairing homes for your neighbors in need.

(If you are looking for ways to volunteer on a Habitat build site, please click here for more information.)

Volunteering at the ReStore is a fun way to make a difference in your community without swinging a hammer or getting your boots muddy. Not only do ReStore volunteers help Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes in Lexington, but they also keep our community clean and green by diverting more than 6,000 pounds of reusable material out of the waste stream every day! New ReStore volunteers must schedule an orientation prior to their first shift.

Volunteer opportunities are available from 9:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Please consider making a commitment of at least (2) four hour shifts per month. ReStore volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer without a parent or guardian or 14-15 years old with the accompaniment of a parent or guardian. Small group opportunities are also available. To learn more about ReStore volunteer opportunities, call 859-252-2224 Ext. 150 or email
