We are intentional with the way we build quality, affordable homes. The techniques we use ensure that the families we partner with can age in place and experience affordable homeownership long term. Here are a few examples of these techniques:

Elevator Speech

Raised-Heel Trusses

We frame with raised-heel trusses. These are raised higher than a conventional truss, leaving room for insulation. It improves structural and energy performance.

Energy Star

Our home’s appliances and lightbulbs are all Energy Star certified. We remain the only builder in Lexington recognized as building 100% ENERGY STAR Certified Homes.

Zero Step Entry

Each of our homes are built with at least one zero step entry, widened hallways and other features that will allow homeowners to age in place in the event that their mobility declines.

WaterSense

We install WaterSense certified appliances, which typically use about 20% less water. Reduced water waste saves homebuyers on their water bill and contributes to more permanently affordable homeowernership.

California Corners

This is an alternative way to frame that allows insulation to be applied all the way to the corner of the house. This technique also uses less lumber without sacrificing any stability.

Blow-In Insulation

We use blow-in insulation to better fill in gaps where cold air would otherwise come in. It’s also more environmentally friendly than rolled insulation because it’s made from recycled cellulose and fiberglass.

Sill Seal

As additional insulation, we use sill seal at the base of exterior walls. This provides a seal against air leakage, moisture and insect intrusion at the juncture of the foundation wall and sill plate.

Hurricane Ties

Walk-In Shower

We install a walk-in shower in every home because we build to permanently meet a family’s housing needs. Accessible features like this allow homeowners to age in place if they experience a decline in mobility due to age or other circumstances.
