Lexington Habitat COVID-19 Updates

Lexington Habitat for Humanity Offices & ReStore Locations Closed To The Public

LEXINGTON (March 19, 2020) – Our work is about more than homes, it's about community. That is why - first and foremost - we must help prioritize the health and safety of this community. We have been closely monitoring development with Covid-19 and reviewing recommendations on the local, state and federal level. As of March 18, 2020, Lexington Habitat is taking the following steps:

ReStores: Temporarily Closed to the Public Effective 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, we will be closing both Lexington Habitat ReStore locations until further notice. Please know that this decision was a difficult one. Based upon guidance from local and national authorities, we decided that it was the right choice for our staff, volunteers, customers, donors and the greater community. We will continue to evaluate opportunities for our facilities to re-open.

ReStore Donations UPDATED 3/25/2020 TO ADD: Due to local guidance for COVID-19 safety measures, we are no longer able to accept drop-off donations at our Lexington Habitat ReStore locations. We are so grateful for your support, but one of the best ways to help us is to please not leave anything outside of our doors at this time. Staff will not be able to process any items. You can support us by holding your donations until we reopen or making a financial donation at www.lexhabitat.org/ways-to-give.

Administrative Offices: We've Gone Virtual Effective 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020, we are temporarily closing our administrative office to the public. Please visit our staff directory at www.lexhabitat.org/about-us/board-staff and our team members will assist you remotely. We will continue to evaluate opportunities for our facilities to re-open.

Homeownership & Home Repair Programs UPDATED 3/23/2020 TO ADD: Lexington Habitat for Humanity is not currently accepting applications for our Homebuyer or Home Repair programs. Please check www.lexhabitat.org for updates about the next application period.

Volunteers: All Activity Temporarily Suspended We are temporarily suspending all volunteer activity at our build sites, offices and ReStore locations. Individuals and groups who were scheduled to volunteer will be rescheduled at a later time. We will continue to evaluate opportunities for our volunteers to support our mission.

Build Sites: Temporarily Closed to the Public All build site activity is currently closed to the public.

While these decisions will impact our ministry, we are serious about our commitment to love our neighbors and enact practices that are in their best interest and safety. We are continuing to adapt to this evolving situation and will modify our response as appropriate.
