Lexington Habitat for Humanity Receives $25,000 Grant from Kohl’s National Giveback Initiative

Lexington, KY (February 5, 2024) - Lexington Habitat for Humanity is the proud recipient of a $25,000 grant provided by Kohl’s Cares Goods for Good program that will go towards a homebuyer sponsorship for a home that will be built on Bradley Court beginning in March 2024. The homebuyer who will live in this home said, “I am most excited about being able to get into a place where I can lay my head down at night and rest easy knowing I’m safe and have a place to bring my family.”

Lexington Habitat for Humanity has built and repaired homes for more than 35 years driven by the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Lexington Habitat homebuyers pay an affordable mortgage and help to build their own homes alongside sponsors and volunteers. Financial support from sponsors and donors assures that this homeownership opportunity is available in our community promoting stability, self-reliance and a safe place to live.

Kohl’s grant to Lexington Habitat for Humanity was made through the company’s National Giveback Initiative, which provides associates with the opportunity to nominate a nonprofit they’re passionate about for a $25,000 grant. Through the initiative, Kohl’s will donate grants to selected nonprofits nationwide, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to family health and wellness. The full list of selected grant recipients is available on Corporate.Kohls.com. Donations are made possible through the Kohl’s Cares Goods for Good merchandise program, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to charitable organizations across the country.
