Link-Belt Cranes Sponsors Family's Journey to Homeownership

LEXINGTON (April 22, 2025) – On Tuesday, April 29, Link-Belt Cranes will join Lexington Habitat for Humanity to kick off construction in partnership with a new homebuyer family. Mashauri and her six children can’t wait to begin the next step on their journey to affordable homeownership.

“I want to express my gratitude for all you have done for my family,” said Mashauri. She looks forward to furnishing her home and creating a “beautiful haven” for her family.

“Link-Belt Cranes exemplifies what it means to be a true community builder — not just in the structures they help raise, but in the lives they help lift. Their generous support of Lexington Habitat for Humanity reflects a deep commitment to corporate citizenship and a shared belief that building stronger communities starts with investing in the people who call them home.”

“In 2025, Link-Belt Cranes turns 150 years old as a company, and this year also marks the 50th anniversary of relocating our company headquarters from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Lexington, Kentucky. I cannot think of a more fitting show of support to this community than building a home for a family ready to call Central Kentucky home,” said Melvin Porter, CEO and President.  “It has certainly been very good to us.”

Mashauri’s family will be the tenth homebuyer household that Link-Belt Cranes has sponsored over the years. This generous partnership allows Lexington Habitat for Humanity to continue to provide a pathway to affordable housing for local families. Plus, Link-Belt's many hours of volunteer service ensure a smooth and swift building process. Mashauri looks forward to working on her home alongside the Link-Belt team and learning new construction skills.

Since breaking ground on its first home in 1987, Lexington Habitat has adapted to Lexington's changing housing landscape by expanding its offerings — from single-family residences to townhomes — all while staying true to its mission: building homes, communities and hope.

Link-Belt Cranes, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, is a leader in the design and manufacture of telescopic boom and lattice boom cranes for the construction industry worldwide.
