LEXINGTON (March 7, 2022) – Central Kentucky is coming together this Saturday to shuffle for shelter! Lexington Habitat for Humanity’s signature event, the Shamrock Shuffle 3K, takes place at Fasig-Tipton on March 12, 2022.
The event is a chip timed fun run that has kicked off racing season in Lexington for the last 16 years. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to attend, compete for awards and take part in the costume contest. This year’s race also features a virtual participation option.
In person race registration closes on March 10 and space is limited. Shufflers are encouraged to sign up quickly to reserve their spots at www.ShamrockShuffle3K.com.
“Though the race has historically taken place Downtown, we’ll be at Fasig-Tipton this year. We’re at this alternative venue not only for the scenery and chance to spot some horses, but so that we can offer shufflers the opportunity to spread out in race waves.” says Christina Grimm, Race Director. “For many, this is a St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Our goal is to have an incredibly successful event that everyone is comfortable attending.”
After the race, many shufflers are expected to head Downtown to enjoy to the Lexington St. Patrick's Parade and Festival which kicks off at 10:45 a.m. on March 12.
Net proceeds from the locally-organized Shamrock Shuffle support affordable housing in our community through Lexington Habitat for Humanity. Driven by the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to live, Lexington Habitat brings people together to build and repair homes.
