LHFH Announces New Members to its Board of Directors

Lexington Habitat for Humanity is delighted to welcome eight new members to its Board of Directors: Chancellor Scott (Guide Realty Inc.; Elaine Allen), Scott Romans (Crosslin PLLC), Donna Covington (Asbury Theological Seminary, Retired), Brenda Weaver (Community Ventures), Hunter Porter (BC Wood Properties), Jeff Fugate (University of Kentucky School of Architecture), Ramsey Bova (Moneywatch Advisors) and Anne Donworth (Kentucky State Representative, 76th District).

The organization also welcomes a new Executive Committee: Beverly Gamrat (Baptist Health) as Chair, Peter Carew (Gray) as Vice-Chair, Todd Rotgers (The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta) as Treasurer and Amanda Lockaby (Lockaby PLLC) as Secretary.

These community leaders will rise to the challenge of affordable housing and usher in an era of growth and expansion for Lexington Habitat. As the affordable housing gap in Lexington continues to widen and the cost of materials and land continues to rise, Lexington Habitat’s Board of Directors will guide the organization into a sustainable and impactful future.

“We are excited to welcome our eight new board members and look forward to working alongside both new and returning leaders as we confront the urgent challenges of affordable housing in our community,” said CEO Darryl Neher. “Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will be instrumental in advancing our mission to ensure that everyone has access to a safe, decent and affordable place to call home. Together, we will build a stronger, more equitable future for all.”

“I’m honored to step into the role of Board Chair for Lexington Habitat for Humanity at a time when the need for affordable housing is greater than ever,” said Beverly Gamrat. “As we welcome eight exceptional new board members, I’m inspired by the diverse experiences, passion and dedication they bring. Together, we will remain at the forefront of collaborative and innovative ways to support affordable housing in our community, while working toward a future where everyone has a decent place to live."

Lexington Habitat’s Board of Directors sets the organization’s strategic direction, makes high-level policies and supports the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Lexington Habitat for Humanity would also like to thank outgoing board members Chad Tussey, Tiffany Brown and Janet Beard for their service and dedication. View the full list of current board members at www.lexhabitat.org/board-staff.
