Now Accepting Board Member Applications

Updated: Aug 26, 2021

LEXINGTON (August 11, 2021) – Lexington Habitat for Humanity is looking for individuals who are passionate about creating affordable housing to join their board of directors. The organization is accepting applications now through September 17, 2021 at www.lexhabitat.org/boardapplication.

At a time when access to affordable housing grows increasingly challenging in our community, Lexington Habitat is in search of people with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and talents to support their vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

The board sets the organization’s strategic direction, makes high-level policies, and delegates operations and implementation to the staff. Additional details regarding expectations can be found on the application. Applicants should include a letter of interest and a resume with work and volunteer experience. Candidates who have been selected and accept the position will be submitted for consideration to the full board. Incoming board members will be appointed in November 2021 and begin their term in January 2022.

Lexington Habitat Board of Directors help shape housing in Lexington and members will be among those who dedicate themselves to making our community a better place to live for everyone. The current executive committee members include Parashar Joshi (Valvoline) as Board Chair, Chris Crumrine (UK) as Vice Chair, Brandi Peacher (LFUCG) as Secretary, McKay Moore (LRC Real Estate) as Treasurer as well as Marlene Helm (Consultant) and Rachel Smith Childress (Lexington Habitat). View the full list of board members at www.lexhabitat.org/board-staff.

Any questions about the application process may be directed to Amy Preece at AmyP@lexhabitat.org.
